Why I designed Kit v3
I owned and maintained the stock Arctic Spa filter system before designing Kit v3. I even used an unofficial teardown method to open the old Progressive Filters, pop apart the filter stack, clean the internal layers, preserve their order, and rebuild everything.
It worked well enough to extend their use, but it was slow, messy, and never restored the dense internal media to like-new condition. I designed Kit v3 because normal filter maintenance should not require dismantling a proprietary stack. I wanted accessible pleated filters I could remove, inspect, clean thoroughly, and buy without being tied to one replacement source.
The new Polar Pro design recognizes part of that same problem by making its insert removable. It still stops short of filter freedom because the replacement media remains specific to the Polar Pro canister.
